No good chain

You get paranoid or something.

This is just to point out that on a regular basis, thieves (maybe the same thief) come by and steal bikes and bike parts by clipping these cable locks. I am curious to know whether they will clip a cable to steal just a wheel, or whether it has to be the whole bike.

Not Locked

bad locking job

There's a disconnection, a lapse of mechanical perception, that sometimes happens when people lock up their bikes. I had a neighbor who got several bikes and bike wheels stolen, and he's an extremely smart guy, but he coudn't remember to get the frame and both wheels every time.

bad locking job too

Listening: BBC on The Fall and Rise of the Bicycle

BBC Radio show on the bicycle as transportation device (Realplayer SMIL link).

Good listening. Part one considers the bicycle in Namibia. I'm listening to part two now, which contrasts London and Copenhagen.
